50/50 Grenache and Syrah from Scorched Earth vineyard. A site planted by Lonnie Wright on the Washington side of The Gorge outside of Goldendale, which Nate took control of in 2016. There is more of this same wine still in barrel that is being bottled this summer that I tasted a few weeks ago. This wine kicks ass and the late bottling is ridiculously good and a bit more Syrah focused. This wine is incredibly food friendly, fresh, shows the Grenache, pure strawberry and cherry. We put a cork in it and came back 12 hours later and the beautiful peppery notes and olivey brineyness showed itself. Killer wine, really good stuff. Doesn’t look like the scores here get it...
