Schramsberg Vineyards Brut Blanc de Blancs Chardonnay 2014
CALIFORNIA : NORTH COAST Chardonnay DRY, MEDIUM BODIED, RICH, TROPICAL FRUIT, BRIGHT, OAK PRESENT The wine presents notes of key lime, green apple and honeydew melon, ripe Anjou pear and dried pineapple. The lingering finish is nicely balanced with a certain brightness and freshness. ECOLOGY: Sustainable FOOD PAIRING: Fish & Mussels

Jack and Jamie Davies revived the historic vineyards and cellars in 1965. Today, their son Hugh, continues their mission. Coming off their highly successful 12’ & ‘13 vintages, the 2014 is also 100% Chardonnay straw with aromas of floral stone fruits and citrus notes. A terrific crisp sparkler with crisp apple, peach and lemon flavors, fine mousse with tiny bubbles. Tangy acidity on a lingering finish ending with a yeasty creamy character. Nice!

Celebrating the 4th a little early with a yearly family tradition...listening to the Fort Worth Symphony at the Botanical Gardens with the best firework show in Fort Worth! Noticeable step up from the Chandon, in both nose and palate. Much more herbaceous on the nose with added limestone. Palate shows more of the classic chalk/yeast notes with minuscule bubbles. ALMOST creamy (but not quite). There is a baked key lime pie type finish. A nice US sparkler for the price.

Not related to this wine in particular here's a question to fellow Delectable users - has the label recognition on this app taken a turn for the worse recently? I admittedly post a lot of unknown labels but find myself needing to correct identified wines about 70% of the time. @Delectable Wine Have you "downgraded" your software recently? This specific wine is a fairly simple label to recognize and yet it came up wrong on first try. I do enjoy using the app but in a competitive market (read; Vivino) quality/reliability should set you apart.
