Saurwein Chi Riesling 2023

SOUTH AFRICA : WESTERN CAPE : ELGIN  Riesling  LIGHT-BODIED, OFF-DRY, CRISP, PEAR, LEMON SHERBERT, HONESYUCKLE, GINGER FLINT, NO OAK Crisp and shining, this small production, low-intervention Riesling from Jessica Saurwein (who works exclusively with her favorite grapes - Pinot Noir and Riesling) has perfectly balanced RS, beautiful citrus fruit, and good mid palate weight. The name "Chi" means "life force" and stands for CHIUTA (an Africa Rain god), as inspired by the scenic vineyards of the fertile Elgin valley from which it came.   WINEMAKING : Grapes hand-picked; spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks over 6 weeks; bottled after 2 months in tank. 14.2 g/L RS.  FARMING : Sustainable PAIRING : Sweet Chili Crispy Chicken
