Covid -19 wines part one: out in our quad, with our socially distanced friends and neighbors, drinking by the Hudson. After some sx and being out of work but much better. What better way to start to celebrate recovery but with a Canary Islands red- qpr too, at under 16$. Has a deep maraschino cherry thing, not too dissimilar to Cru Bojo. I love Canary Islands, and in the age of a pandemic, we all need what/who we love.

Loads of black pepper and dried herbs on the nose. Some black cherry and plum perhaps. Quite savory overall. Ripe cherry and strawberry start things out with a meaty, peppery mid palate. Tannins are medium and fine with a medium sour cherry and cranberry acidity. Plum skin finishes out the nice finish. If someone told me this was a Cote du Rhone from a very good producer I would not think twice. Delicious, balanced wine with red fruit and spice in spades.
