Another go to n/v Rosé Champange because of quality & availability in 375’s. Although, most people think their recent price increases are unwarranted. In large part, I agree. They just haven’t passed my threshold. Lots of strawberries, black cherries, blood orange, uncooked rhubarb, blackberries, peach, Rainer cherries, loads of white spice w/ heat, sea fossils, dry yeast, some bread dough, weighed, crispy, crunchy minerals, excellent, powdery chalkiness, red flowers & both pink & red rose, lively, crisp acidity, great length and balance with polished, ripe fruits and falling onto pronounced minerality on the long set. The bottom photos tell you all you need to know as to why the region of Champange is so excellent. Not many places in the world have that kind of chalk & for me, that’s what makes them special.

Champagne is for celebrating & today is a day most worthy of celebration. The Ruinart N/V Rosé is always solid at a 92 on the palate but, today its celebration value is a solid 10. I will let my many previous notes stand while we enjoy celebrating! Cheers all!

That Krug at lunch today was good but, it’s Friday and I need some Rosé Champagne. Nose is showing a lot of blood orange, tangerine, slightly baked strawberries, cherries, lean watermelon near the rind, rhubarb reduction, yellow peach, black cherries, some blackberries, oyster shell, sea fossils, saline, grey volcanics, dry yeast, grainy chalk, bread dough, baguette crust with fresh pink & red rose petals. The palate shows deeper, richer, riper & juicy; black cherries, blackberries, blood orange, tangerine, slightly baked strawberries, cherries, lean watermelon near the rind, rhubarb reduction, yellow peach, oyster shell, sea fossils, saline, grey volcanics, hints of white spice with just a shade of heat, touch of fresh Provenance herbs, dry yeast, grainy chalk, bread dough, baguette crust with fresh pink & red rose petals. The acidity is fresh, round & lively. The long, well balanced & nicely polished finish lingers nicely with volcanic minerals & white spice on the long set. A great way to start any night. The fruits are always ruby & rich. Black cherries, strawberries, Rainer cherries, tangerine, grapefruit with pith, watermelon, dry yeast, baguette crust, grey volcanics, granular chalk, saline with red flowers, red & pink roses. Lively acidity. Excellent balance and a smartly polished long finish.

Our favorite Spring day is when we get plant the yard. Especially, during Covid-19 lockdown. Never more enjoyable. Flowers by Sofia. Garden is me. A great weather day and worthwhile doing a cheers with of one of our favorite N/V Rosé Champagne’s. With the lockdown, I am running dangerously low on Rosé Champange. I might have to Soda Stream some Rosé wine soon. All my many, many notes still apply. Cheers all and Happy Easter if you celebrate it.

Onto something we love after the Kongsgaard palate burn. Never disappoints, consistent, rich, ripe deep red fruits with just the right amount of minerality & chalkiness. Beautiful rich fruits of; blackberries, black cherries, summertime watermelon, well extracted pomegranate, mixed berry cola, cherry kirsch, saline, sea fossils, bread dough to baguette crust, great grey volcanics, excellent, grainy chalkiness with pink flowers framed in red & pink rose petals.
