AUSTRIA : BURGENLAND : MITTELBURGENLAND Blaufrankisch

Wonderful floral bouquet of candied violets, bright cranberry and pink peppercorn. Intense minerality and acid, but softened after a day. I always remember the freshness and finesse Moric’s wines have on the palate. Very versatile food wine and a benchmark for Blaufränkisch.

Never a dull bottle of Moric! The entry level Blaufränkisch goes in my cart any time I encounter it. Improves with age but pretty hard to keep the cork in...

Mild tannins, smooth and silky. Red currant, slightly acidic, hint of green peppercorn.

Exploring Austria red. Pinot like. Fresh but overall is light. Lot of young fresh fruits on the nose. Sweet rhubarb and herbs. After some air it becomes much better. Very pinot. Silky, mineral and sweet rhubarb. Not bad. However it was only good in the first 2 hrs and then downhill so drink all in a go

BLAUCH!! Yuck. It smells like tequila...and that smell is so strong and over powering it completely ruins the wine. Had this one at an Austrian wine pairing event and as the 4th wine of 5 it was even more disappointing (it ruined the crescendo effect!) I would never ever buy a bottle of this. If u like tequila tho by all means go for it because u'll prolly get a kick outta drinking a red wine tequila lol.

My first try of an Austrian Pinot equivalent and it was great quality.

Light, needs a slight chill, slightly dry and acidic -- it's perfect with cheese or pasta
