Rich, perfumed dark fruit aromas on the nose are met by spicy black fig, coffee, cocoa powder, and oak toast flavors on the palate. Undeniably a dense and brooding wine, it remains lifted and nuanced, with a lovely softness to the mouthfeel and a gratifyingly long finish that carries notes of clove, nutmeg, and other barrel spices.
