AUSTRALIA : MOUNT LOFTY RANGES : CLARE VALLEY Sciacarello (Mammolo) LIGHT-BODIED, STRAWBERRY, POMEGRANATE CHERRY,  ROSE, HERBAL, SPICE, EARTH, OAK Light and fresh, with perfumed aromas and distinct herbaceous and spicy notes — this unique red from the esteemed Clare Valley appellation in Southern Australia is made from the Corsican varietal Sciaccarello (Shak-ar-ellom, or “Mammolo” as it is known in Tuscany), indicative of a wider trend in Aussie winemaking for the production of elegant, light-bodied reds using traditionally Mediterranean varietals (which have done well in the face of an increasingly warm climate).
