Királyudvar Sec Tokaji Furmint 2014

$23

Hungary : Tokaji 85% Furmint, 15% Harslevelu FULL BODIED, ORCHARD FRUIT, FLORAL, BRIGHT, RICH, NO OAK The nose is incredibly evocative of orange blossoms and granny smith apples.  The brightness sings and complements the honeyed, opulent texture of the wine. Very crisp limestone minerality with a lively freshness. Biodynamic

Medium gold color, with oatmeal, bruised apple, saffron, and wooly nose nose is a dead ringer for rustic Chenin from Loire. Less acidity than chenin.

Like a Savannieres on steroids. Absolutely pungent minerality with some oxidation present, funkified apricot and bruised apples lying on the ground notes, and, to borrow a Lyle Fass term, armpit. A bit more civilized in the mouth. Very interesting.

One of the true gems from the Rare Wine Company portfolio. The Vouvray comparisons still hold true- spice, lanolin, beeswax, chamomile, baked apple and shimmering minerality. Leesy and somewhat rounded mid palate, multi-layered texture. Great tension between richness and tight acidity. The incredible QPR of this wine is very tough to beat.

Give me all of this. The perfect balance of delicate florals, funk, acidity and mineral goodness. Mouth continues to water staring at this empty bottle
