Chris Angel Mindfreak. Candied fruit like CDP, menthol like Shiraz, Savory w/ VA like Sangio, and impossible blind

Expressive aromatics and plush red fruit, hints of tobacco, structured tannins and an overall amazing drinking experience are just some of the notes I have recorded on this 2004 vintage 15 years after being harvested.

Wow..had this wine a few times now...deep purple still...some leather, tobacco, mod tannins, and great acid still holding together. Blackcherry. This could easily go another 10 years...

Black pepper, olives, leather, and menthol showing in this particular bottle. More developed than other 04’s I’ve had from MV.

Such a baby - huge menthol / eucalyptus and defy use of oak (partial french?) - guessed it was 2012-13. A lifetime ahead of it

Third red wine and second of the Heitz Cellars. After tasting all three guessed that this was the youngest of the three. Deep ruby core with garnet edges. Layered nose with an attack of toasted notes, bacon fat, then opened up with some floral notes, dark cocoa, dark fruits and sweet spices. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) and medium plus to full bodied. Rich palate with sweet spices, spices and black fruits. Super long and dry finish. Drink till 2024.
