France : Rhone Valley : GigondasGrenache, Mourvedre MEDIUM-FULL BODIED, RED FRUIT, SPICE, FLORAL, SMOKE, NEUTRAL OAKCherry, raspberry, white pepper, and a hint of allspice round out the nose on this classic French Rhone red. Fruits on the palate really ripen after some exposure to air, and balance well with smooth tannin structure. Organic

This is the 2019 Saint-Damien Vieilles Vignes Gigondas. This is from the Rhone Vaucluse, France. A blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre. On the nose there is strawberry, black cherry, spice, anise, white pepper, a bit savory and gamy with some minerality. On the palate there is strawberry, black cherry, raspberry, citrus rind, anise, cinnamon and black pepper. This wine is medium to full bodied with a smooth silky mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium to medium + fine tannins that moves well into a long dark fruit and gamy mineral finish. I hope everyone has made it well ththrough the first half of the week and looking forward to the easy slide into the weekend. Please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia!
