France : Burgundy : Gevrey-Chambertin Pinot Noir MEDIUM-BODIED, RED/BLACK FRUIT, SPICE, EARTH, SILKY, NEUTRAL OAK A cuvee made from a selection of older vines, meaning a slightly broader and richer result. Beautifully ripened red cherry and strawberry, with notes of rose petal, baking spice, and just a touch of earth on the finish. Delicate and satin-like texture.

Prominent, distinctive nose. Hay? Oatmeal? Barnyard? Possibly Brett-affected? But it’s not an unpleasant note - just dominates the fruit. Palate is silky smooth with savoury dark red cherry and some spiciness. Shall leave it open a while and see how things develop... Edit: Night 2 and everything has integrated a lot more. Lovely drinking. A bit drying on the finish.
