The site is bordered on three sides by Romanée Saint-Vivant, one of Burgundy's five Grand Crus, and there is an active effort among local growers to have it reclassified into that appellation. If it succeeds, this price will not hold.Jean-Jacques Coudray-Bizot farms organically and holds wines in his 16th-century cellars beneath a château in Beaune until he judges them ready — often five to six years.
