Australia : McLaren Vale : Fleurieu Shiraz, Viognier FULL-BODIED, BLACK PLUM, BLACKBERRY, LICORICE, CEDAR, OLIVE, COCOA, OAK A little backstory: the “Laughing Magpies” was the name given to a pair of wild Kookaburras living in the bushland that surrounds the d’Arenberg winery ... Mostly Shiraz (a black grape) with 4% Viognier (a white grape), this bottle was the first blend of its kind to be made in the McLaren Valley, a fitting homage to the Kookaburra’s distinct plumage — mostly black, with a white stripe. Ecology: Biodynamic Pairing: Roasted Turkey & Cranberry Sauce

What? Red and white in the same bottle?? Surely you are mistaken… it’s all true folks! Shiraz and Viognier blend if jammy and full bodied with a nice touch of oak.
