California : Central Coast : Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon FULL BODIED, RIPE RED FRUIT, SPICE, LUSH, CHOCOLATE, HERB, NEW OAK Lush, round, and ripe California Cabernet Sauvignon. Great concentration of ripe red fruits, plum, savory herbs, and spice. Balanced, yet warm with hints of dark chocolate and dried cherries. Smooth tannins; drinking fabulously now. Sustainable

Dark berry, burnt espresso. Ok right out of the bottle, but worth decanting. Hard to beat for the price. Grill happy Cab.

Very ripe example of #cabernetsaugvinon from #pasoroblescab not bad for the price, but not great either.

Solid Daou. But very young wine. Will be interesting to see the fruit forwardness integrate and mellow over time.

In hills of Paso Robles, not far from Hearst castle, there is a man with a Homeric vision. His name is Daniel Daou and he is devoting his life to creating outstanding Cabernet’s. Deep red with complex dark berry nose, aged for 11 months on French oak (60% new). On the palate blackberry, tart cherry and a licorice twist, gentle background spice with savory fine tannins. Medium+ finish ending with cacao and earthy herbs. Great value. I also tried the Reserve which is something special.

Dark purple in color. Cherry on the nose and palate. Nice tannins with a thick mouth feel. May become better with age, but a decent wine for the money.

Thin, flat front with notes of tar, cassis, underripe blackberry, & old smoke. Lightly tart on the end, almost sour, with a dry finish. Lacks backbone, but I’d drink it at a party.

Well structured CA cab - good balance between tannin and fruit. A bit too sweet, though. Overall good but certainly not great. $25, but $15 gets me the same thing.
