Lots of potential to go higher here with more time in the bottle. On a Faugeres kick this weekend. Where Barral was more dense and powerful, the Fantine is the female version with more elegance and poise, with a firm backbone of tannin and juicy acidity. Wild flavors of violets, licorice, spice with blueberry and blackberry fruit. Darker but more elegant fruit character intensity. A long finish that tightens up some on the end. #faugeres #fantine

Agree with other recent reviewers--less dense than Barral, more lithe and floral and pretty, so initially more approachable but shut down after seeing some air. A bit of time should help

Dark fruit Leather funkiness. Great acidic pop throughout (though I'm getting a phantom-like petillant effect). In some ways reminded me of a stranger la Rioja Alta Gran Reserva Rioja... I think this is fermented by carbonic maceration? (no cap punch down or pump over, say the winemakers...) I plan on *definitely* buying this again. Faugères in the house!

Et de deux. Fizzy. Costaud. Très bien fait. Un peu trop alcoholisé, au début on en prends plein le nez. Après 1h beaucoup mieux.
