FRANCE : ST. EMILION GRAND CRU Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon MEDIUM BODIED, BLUE/BLACK FRUIT, SUPPLE TANNINS, OAK PRESENT Very attractive nose giving dried flowers, brambleberry, plum and a bit of cedar. The wine lies medium on the palate with graphite, mineral, and blackberry with nice acidity. Native yeast, no fining or filtration, 20% new oak. ECOLOGY: Conventional FOOD PAIRING: Game & Meat

Initially Raspberry tart and Brett in a good way. Cork is amazing! Rich thick chewy mouthfeel. Fruit and wood still very prominent and well integrated. Surprised this has really held up well.

The 2012 Haut-Ségottes makes a strong impression. An exuberant yet mid-weight wine, the 2012 possesses striking aromatics, no hard edges and enough depth to drink well for at least a handful of years. We have had two different experiences with this. One was very good and one was very bad. I don’t know if it’s a storage or shipping issue (not shipped to me I bought retail and pickup). It’s like two different wines. One very alive and one very dead.

Ahh...St. Emilion...what else to say? Lasting tannins. Sumptuous nose. Soft bramble, herbs, dirt, and hints of barnyard. Delicious! I wish I had more to serve as my good ole standby.
