The wine is a 50/50 blend of Sumoll and Garnatxa, farmed organically at 600 meters on poor clay-limestone soil. Indigenous yeast, 15 days maceration, 12 months in stainless steel. No oak. Unfined, unfiltered, minimal sulfur.Sumoll is one of Catalonia's nearly-extinct indigenous black varieties — fewer than 100 hectares remain planted across the entire Penedès DO. James Suckling scored the 2023 vintage 92 points: "red cherries with raspberries and blueberries, tile and violets — soft, pleasantly rustic tannins and bright fruit balanced by linear acidity." Decanter added 93: "the intense florality of Garnacha woven into Sumoll's earthiness...
