Bowmore Distillery Aged 12 Years Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky NV

I was quite surprised by this very reasonably priced Bowmore. Initial nose is of peat with traces of caramel and honey. The taste is of smoke, fresh cut lumber and citrus. The length is short-medium and has a good malty after taste. One of the most peat laden Islay scotches, however is very light and drinkable.

Not for the faint of heart. Peaty and heavily smoky, oak, citron, honey, and leather. Puts me in mind of Ardbeg, but at a gentler price point.

One of the heavier peat and smoke flavored whiskies available. To be honest, you could probably mistake this for burnt rubber.

Honey color with thick legs. Toasted barley, oatmeal, wet grass, caramel, vanilla, hay, charcoal smoke, and honeycomb. Medium finish. Medium finish.

Smoky peaty yumminess to finish a night. Notes of caramel, fruit cake and lemon.
