USA : NEW YORK : FINGER LAKESORGANIC : GewurztraminerAMBER, STEWED APPLE, CINNAMON SPICE, DRIED CITRUS PEEL, TANNICKim Engle has been farming grapes on the west side of Cayuga Lake since the 1980s, one of the earliest and most quietly influential figures in Finger Lakes natural wine. Bloomer Creek was established in 1999 across two Gewürztraminer parcels near Hector, NY: Morehouse Road with 26-year-old vines, and the younger Auten Vineyard. No herbicides, no irrigation, hand-harvested.Engle takes two harvest passes each year, one early for acidity and one later for ripeness, then ferments both batches on the skins for approximately four and a half weeks before blending. No additions, no fining, no filtration, just minimal SO2 at bottling. Glowing amber in the glass, dry on the palate, and stacked with stewed apple, cinnamon, dried citrus peel, and crystallized ginger.
