FRANCE : CHAMPAGNE : CONGY Pinot Noir BONE-DRY, RED BERRY, FRESH, BRIGHT, TART, NEUTRAL OAK Disgorged in February 2016. Great salinity due to low dosage. Very expressive of the terroir around Cogny. Deep red berries, crisp acidity, and strong tannin structure from neutral oak. Lovely expression of Collin’s champagnes. *Organic

Love this wine. In the same style of Egly-Ouriet and Selosse. Really had some great barrel char going on. Singular but defined.

Delightful EB. One of the best growers I’ve had recently at one of my favourite wine bars.

Lots of bottles popped for Weston’s 40th! Only posting a few of my highlights! This was one of my contributions. I opened this with high hopes as the winemaker is a former Selosse employee. I had the fortune of having some Egly-Ouriet the night before and as another Selosse employee, I thought the EO was far superior. This was very good, but it’s not fair to include it in the category of Selosse-esque. Nothing about this was oxidative. Explosion of red berries and red fruit...so bright that they were almost gummy on the nose. Lean and powerful with chalky limestone, minerals, cherry liqueur and tart citrus notes toward the finish. This is a champagne that benefits from a decant.

Bruised apple and spice, almost apple cobbler like but with some oxidation. Always delicious.
