Just as fascinated by this as I was a year ago when I first tasted it. Wild, pungent, cloudy, sour, raw, and definitely dirty and rowdy.

Slightly funky, tomato stem, dusty and mineral, menthol, ripe red berries, a bit woody, leathery with cigar, ashes on the nose, fig, dried strawberries, raspberry, pomegranate, raisin, slightly savory, nutmeg, all spice, preserved plum. Med body, med tannin. It's a Mourvèdre has a lot to offer.

Second time trying this bottling and the extra year definitely helped. Perfect serving temperature by using the Kelvin K2 Wine Thermometer, really made a big difference. Light to medium garnet red. Beautiful nose with notes of lilacs, spices, red berries and twigs. Medium tannins (5/10) and solid acidity. Light plus to medium bodied. Crushed floral notes on the palate with a touch of earthiness, dried cherries, raspberries, herbal notes, strawberries and rhubarb. Long finish. Drink till 2022.

Dirty and Rowdy does it again! The most recent vintage of one of my favorite chuggable, juicy table reds. Southern France by way of California, vin de soif style. Best with a slight chill, IMO. Ripe bing cherry and strawberry, rhubarb, red apple skin, anise, white pepper, and a bit of funky crushed gravel minerality. A touch of VA but it adds more than it detracts; just enough to provide a bit of aromatic lift. Medium (+) acid, medium (-) body, medium (-) fine tannic character. Killer with a Blue Door Pub Blucy bacon burger. Great wine for beef while still being nimble and light on its feet. I love Dirty and Rowdy; great wines from some genuine, passionate people.

There's something to be said about the state of the US wine industry when two wine and food bloggers in Atlanta can leave everything behind for California to start a winery that specializes in producing an inverse version of Mourvèdre. I'm sure that anyone making wine in California if asked where these guys would be after six years would unanimously say they'd be lucky to still be doing it. And certainly wouldn't say they'd be making the cover Wine & Spirits. There's no doubt this is carbonic from the second the cork is pulled. As long as you're not pouring for Master Somms, everyone will assume this is Beaujolais. Juicy plum and mixed berry meet pungent violet, wet gravel, thyme, and a full rack of spices. The dark side of Mourvèdre seeps through over the hours, and in a wave of panic you'll realize you're not drinking Beaujolais, like realizing you're on the wrong plane during take off. In one moment you're mindlessly flipping through the pages of an airline magazine, and in the next you're fully aware of the adventure that awaits.

Nice bright interesting wine. As recommended, with fried chicken was the bomb.
