big petrol right out of the gate - greenish shimmering hued, then all kinds of lanolin, herbal & gooseberry - SB notes, also some orchard fruit, but fairly austere overall. Palate was lean angular razor sharp even at this age and we let it warm up too. Wifey liked it, I didn't but could appreciate it for what it is.
