Briny nose, also yeasty but not toasty, more of an austere yeast. So mineral and saline. Concentrated lemon on the palate, with more exotic citrus zest accents. Really high pitched and exciting. Needs oysters.

A fascinating, if not polarizing wine. At first, this came across a bit over the top. Not in terms of fruit, rather the minerals and acid. It was by far the chalkiest, most mineral driven Champagne I had ever tasted. In fact, it took about 30min for my palate to recalibrate (and maybe allow the wine to relax a bit). After that, it became much more pleasurable and I actually quite enjoyed it. There is some austere citrus fruit but it’s all about the structure at this point and no wonder as this NV’s base year is 2012. A bit of cellar time would do well for this NV. Disgorged January 31, 2019. A true Brut Nature with 0g/l dosage.

(2012 base) The NV Brut Zero is a gorgeous entry-level wine in the Tarlant range. Even with no dosage, the Brut Zero is endowed with tremendous textural depth. Apricot, orange peel, mint, chamomile and dried flowers meld together effortlessly. The natural richness of the red-skinned grapes comes through in the wine’s weight and overall feel. This is a superb edition of the Brut Zero. The current release is based on 2012, with 35% reserve wines. Disgorged: December, 2018. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, July 2019)

The Tarlant Brut Nature NV is a positively divine Champer for Sunday brunch. Zippy. Citrus and minerals are dominant. Killer with gravlax and a fresh potato salad. Based on the 2010 vintage; disgorged August of 2017

Super austere right now. I can see this becoming very good in about 10yrs with some nutty weight on it.
