The 2016 Syrah (Santa Barbara County) is a gorgeous appellation-level wine. Dark and pliant with expressive savory and black pepper overtones, the 2016 delivers the goods. All the elements fall into place effortlessly. Sage and lavender overtones linger in the glass. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2018)

Mmmmm Wow mmmm. This is the Princess result of the Rhone California marriage. Well balanced and deep. Touch hint of hermitage but California born and schooled. Can't wait for my second bottle.

Like all Piedrasassi wines, this guy is extremely complex and full of umami notes. Black pepper, lavender, dirt and dried cranberries on the nose. Hints of black olives, dried mushrooms, sage and graphite. Definitely not your typical Cali Syrah, but always a joy.

Wonderful Santa Barbara Syrah. Deep purple colo, medium to full bodied. On the nose and the palate it has a delicious funk to it with black fruit and fine tannins.

Beautiful black olive tapenade. Distinctly Californian without any fat.

Disappointing wine, too harsh to drink. Fruit forward but ends in harsh tannins. Maybe it will be drinkable in 5 years.

Drinking again. Delicious again. Cherries, spice, and a little dirt to make things complex. Smoooth
