Dark fruit, super dark color in the glass, but surprisingly smooth in the glass.

Sometimes Perricone can run a little hot and over-extracted, but in the capable hands of the Beas, this wine still has its rustic back bone but a little more fresh.

Perfumed but with some muscle. Stewed fruit, cinnamon and some other spiced notes.

2013 in 6/21. Swrly. $40. The Biondvo site called this wine a "fire breathing beast demanding caveman cut of meat". So I decanted for an hour and did it w NY strip. Worked very well and the wine wasn't abusive in the least! Great aromatics. Fruit seems just shy of burnt but in a good way. Baking spice, dark prune/fig. All the fruit is dark and bold but solid acidity balances its broodiness. Not crowd pleasing (thank you) but delicious AND interesting. If you like IPA and Islay youd appreciate the wild, rustic qualities here. My 1st Perricone perhaps. 13.5% Better in the sm Rdl Bdx vs the big guy.
