From birba in SF, this is such a delicious find. It has all the classic Nebbiolo red fruit, flowers, and earth. There's still plenty of primary fruit in this bottle, but it's starting to get more complex and show some notes of tar. Structurally this has opened up aromatically, has silky tannins, and bright but integrated acid. Another wine I want to seek out regularly.

This significantly evolved in the last 6 months. I was unimpressed with its sweetness and forward vanillin on last opening. Those have subsided to show gorgeous soft tannins and earthy, leather, tart blackberry, and licorice notes.

Versions of Nebbiolo that don't get enough air time. 2008 is a beautiful vintage even if there isn't a lot of it.

Cypress bark, cranberry and nutmeg. Buoyant acidity elevates the fine tannins to prominence. Cedar and bright red raspberry with all spice in the long finish. Needs air and more time.

My glass is raised to the memory of David Bowie tonight. The stars look very different today. This is a light, ethereal Nebbiolo blend with sneaky structure & rustic earthiness balancing the tart fruit. Kinda unusual, perfect for toasting the great man.

Lots of sour cherry taste- very dry. Needs food - something with bite - BBQ or jerk chicken or pork loin. I also think it needs to breathe just a bit after opening.
