Comm. G.B. Burlotto Elatis Rosato Nebbiolo Blend 2016

$17.50

GUARANTEED BEST PROVENANCE: IMPORTED FROM ITALY BY AIR AND STOCKED IN CALIFORNIA PRE-ORDER NOW This wine is on its way from Italy and should ship to you by August 21st. Did you say rosè? Oh yes I did! The 2016 pinks are in, so fire up the grill and break out the Burlotto Elatis Rosato from wild and wonderful winemaker Fabio Alessandria. Last year Fabio' importer told me "Sorry, it's on allocation. Not enough to go around." Having tasted Fabio' wine at a San Francisco restaurant last year and absolutely falling in love with it, I certainly understand why. This year I went direct for this glorious summer pink that always sells out fast. Deliciously refreshing, Fabio's rosato is a blend of Nebbiolo, Pelaverga and Barbera with bright fresh raspberries, cherries, a touch of strawberry on the finish. There's pleasingly bright acidity and soft minerality that goes well with grilled shrimp, pork sausages, roasted chicken, or enjoy it as an aperitif. I cook with it — meaning, the wine makes it into the cook, but not the food. ;-) I had reservations months in advance for several cases from Fabio Fans who buy this every year, and my shipment is limited. Try Fabio's fabulous pink to see what all the (justified) hype is about. Bottle Size: 750ml Alcohol: 14%

A true Italian rosato. The nose is intense and full with notes of cranberries, cherries and strawberries. The palate leads with flavors of strawberries and cherries followed by touches of cracked black pepper, lush acidity and just a touch of tannins. The finish is long and holds the tannins and with more notes of fresh strawberries. This was the perfect outdoor rose to pair with pastas.
