GUARANTEED BEST PROVENANCE: IMPORTED BY AIR FROM ITALY AND STOCKED IN CALIFORNIA Another rare treat from Maria Teresa's Cantina, the 2014 Langhe Nebbiolo is delicious. Very few bottles of her "village Nebbiolo" escape from Italy, and I'm lucky to be able to fly some over direct from Piemonte to share with Mascarello fans. This year the wine is medium-bodied and presents perfumed notes of raspberries and sweet strawberries, violets and herbal notes characteristic of the Langhe. Acidity is medium+, which you'd expect with the 2014 vintage, and the tannins are very nice. The wine is remarkably well balanced. Definitely drinkable now. Great paired with grilled beef steaks and roast pork, or go with risotto al Barolo. This wine really is versatile in what you pair it with. Gorgeous and vibrant label from a painting that Maria Teresa's father, Bartolo Mascarello, painted when he was in his 70's. If you want to understand what Mascarello can do with Nebbiolo (and without paying hundreds of dollars for their Barolo), buy this Langhe Nebbiolo. Alcohol: 13.5% Bottle Size: 750 ml

One of my favorite not too expensive Piedmont wines. Great purity of fruit and fabulous Nebbiolo character.

Big wine. Ripe, dark cherries and robust tannins. Very clean fruit. Great Nebbiolo, especially for the price.
