GUARANTEED BEST PROVENANCE: IMPORTED BY AIR FROM ITALY AND STOCKED IN CALIFORNIA Roberto's La Serra cru is much more masculine than his Roche dell'Annunziata, and I expect this will evolve beautifully over the next 30 years. Rich, dark black cherries, ripe plum, tobacco, herbal notes on the nose and palate, and some serious tannins. Very long finish. When I tasted this in October of 2015, it was pretty closed down with grippy tannins. I'd simply decant this gently (from 1 bottle to another, don't go crazy with decanting Barolo), then let it sit for 2-3 hours if you drink it before 2018

This needed about 3+ hours to really open up and shine. Once it did - really got his wine. Subdued cherry with really smooth tannins and good earthiness
