Our "house" Cab, I believe Gideon Beinstock's first vintage. A generous gift from the winery. Still young, even a bit subdued at first; a lovely bouquet of cherry, cedar, campfire, tobacco and vanilla emerges eventually. Dark cherry, forest floor, smoked meat and dried flowers on the finish. The '93-'06 period wines are generally treasures of old school, acid and minerality-driven winemaking, and some back vintages can still be had quite inexpensively direct from the winery.
