It’s always surprisingly multifaceted. This time there’s a menthol quality broadening the usually joyous bojo raspberry/cranberry/tomato. And so persistent.

Didn’t get a chance to try the ‘17 as Cathy did, but I’m getting no Brett in the 2018. Reductive notes for sure, but in balance with acidity and mineral notes. Candied cherry deliciousness. Just as good on Day2, no funkiness, rating upward. A favorite Cru Bojo.

Day one at first impressive and exotically aromatic. Later the same day opening up to strain(s) of clovey-metallic brettanomyces. Day two oxidized and down the drain. Rated as a wine to pop and drink within an hour or two. Cool drinking temperature advised.

Garnet robe. Slow to reveal its perfume, almost needs a decant. But berry liqueur and violets emerge, some baking spice, palate has supple texture, super fine and gentle tannins, nice acid. Truly a wine of pleasure. ‘18 is the most satisfying vintage in Beaujolais to my palate since ‘14. This wine, like the best from the vintage, combines perfect ripeness with classic elegance and lift.

Really nice, likely better with some age but even now quite delicious. First bottle was corked but this one had beautiful light red and flowers leaping from the glass. Delicious mouthfeel with a nice long finish. Very nice.

Simply the purest and superlative gamay. Structured but buoyant, bright and serious; red fruit with earthy guidelines... soft, remarkable, delicious.
