Baseball, Spatburgunder Rose, and garden pesto. Summer! I love E&M’s rose. Needs time and even with time needs air. Tons of character. So food friendly. Tons of strawberry rhubarb fruit, biscuity, yeasty notes, orange peel. Round and flavorful in the mouth. Good acids and a nice bitterish note at the end.

Drinks much more like a light red. In more of a hearty and savory territory as opposed to crisp and refreshing. Cherries, ripe strawberries, spice, herbal, faintly yeasty/sour finish. A touch of effervescence would have made this pretty much perfect.

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Pops Orchestra. Our Pops conductor Keith Lockhart is leading a live-to-picture performance of Star Wars: A New Hope, a showing of the classic 1977 film, with the Orchestra performing Mr. Williams’ iconic score. For live-to-picture productions, the orchestra performs the entire movie score in real time as the film unspools. (Vocals, dialogue and effects are isolated from the original music track.) Generally we get to hear Star Wars scores a couple times per season here at Tanglewood, but tonight we get a chance to hear them with the backdrop of the movie (Episode IV) that launched a franchise, to say the least! I celebrated another full trip around the sun, since my coming into this world, earlier this week. Tonight my wife, some dear friends and me will be enjoying some enticing wines along with our movie night. So notes...maybe, but I'll try!

What a rose! Dare I say a rather complex one? Wow.

Cherry all over; tart cherries, some pie spice, also lots of minerals, an herbal thing and bright lactic streak enlivening the bottle plus a quality I don’t know how to describe other than nymph-pond-water. Beautiful hazy ruby in the glass. Toeing the line with quite a lot of brett in this bottle though...a little distracting from the all the good here, so delicious overall.

A world class Pinot Rose! Herbaceous nose with Yuzu. Potpourri of herbs and red berries in the glass. Spicy touch - Cayenne pepper. Could easily be aged for 5 years. Probably the best Rose in the world right now. Way to inexpensive for what it is. Totally underpriced. Enderle & Moll are insane.

I will try this many times this week. As I build my own Argon line “ha”. Quite tame compared to previous vintages. Needs air. Chill slightly and drink like a red! So this one is elegant sour strawberry

Juicy and comparable to 2015. But I liked 2015 better. This certainly is still outstanding
