Mid-weight but feels delicate initially. Opens up and puts on body after a while in the glass. Blackberry, earth, dried leaves and leather. This is an attractive Burgundy at the peak of its window. Generously brought by @Daniel Moritz to lunch - the boys' lunch for orphan husbands during my wife's baby shower.

You can indicate a Côte Rotie of Jamet as 'Burgundian', but can you indicate a Georges Mugneret as 'Jametian' too? A real "iron hand in a velvet glove". Powerful elegance, spices/herbs and a little meaty. Great wine.

A little disappointing--chalk it up to being in a dumb phase. Still, smelled great and was good to drink--just not as good as I anticipated.

Beautiful! A little meaty and quiet at first, but within an hour it was effusive and showed the vosne roots and the MG style. It should improve for a few more years, but this is singing right now!

From the Georges Mugneret domaine that became Mugneret-Gibourg and now called Georges Mugneret-Gibourg, the sisters made another winner here. There are no hard Nuits edges and the cool red/blue fruit just glides over the palate, but resonates and lasts. Very pure and clean, it is a delicious red Burg entering a long phase of drinkability. Bottle has the old stained glass Saint label, not the pretty Chagall-like newer rendition, but what's in the bottle is sure pretty. Really fine wine.
