Pepper and bright cherries with that beautiful herbaceous northern Rhône loveliness. Chave, all day players.

I mean, just not much to say..perfection...Pure fruit thats just ripe, not tart, not jammy, carries thru to the end, acid medium plus, savory/meaty/black pepper swimming in the glass with long finish..just outstanding...

Marsanne at its best. Rich concentrated explosive fruit, citrus and spices.

Decanted only 90 minutes, would have needed at least twice that. Aromas show a meaty side to start with, menthol, moving and getting more complex and aromatic with white pepper, dark fruits violets and herbs. The palate is powerful, full and dense, deep with lots of class, good length and with tannins that are not yet tamed and show a touch of rusticity and youth. A great bottle but a great bottle to be mostly, still needs 4-5 years. 93-94

Gearing up for the big Rhône trip. This Chave was drinking well for a 2013 but still a little on the young side, began to open up after about 2h in the decanter, still a fantastic wine, supple, elegant, incredible nose.
