1/2021. While my experience with Chianti is limited this is I’m one of the few that I have enjoyed. Nice fruit and finish. Paired well with the wheat spaghetti with red sauce and sausage.

It's very good. For a chianti. A Cherry and an oak with some hints of leather. But the finish is interesting: spicy and long.

The riserva in this vintage is the better way to go v the Chianti Classico. More expression and the tannins have mellowed, just like a good riserva should work. If you ever get a chance to go to Volpaia, I highly recommend it. Easy point between Florence and Siena and you can stay with Guido and Martina at La Locanda.

Let this one breathe for at least 30 minutes!!! The first glass did not win me over. As our dinner progressed, you could taste and smell this one evolving nicely. Dark berries, pepper, and a bit earthy mushrooms. The spice note is excellent on the finish. Went great with lamb and rosemary potatoes.
