Smoky gold color. Aromas of ripe tropical fruits (pineapple, kiwi) with a nice edge of bay laurel and salty herbs. On the palate there's explosive tropical fruit, especially pineapple, passion fruit, guava, and mango with a tang of tangerine and lime. Exuberant but with enough minerals to check it. The winemaker says the wine went through ML but was settled before bottling to eliminate distracting buttery notes from diacetyl. Really a terrific California Chardonnay. 13.6% abv | $28 (sample)

Pretty nice Cali Chardonnay - off the list @ Delfina (SF). Bright citrus and strong acid - hints of oak make you recognize it is from the new world, but do not offend. Clean and quite lovely with our roasted chicken. Recommend - and drink now.
