Like no other Dolcetto I’ve tried. Loads of black cherry fruit yet still rustic. None of the dark ink notes I get in other top examples. Great balance and freshness. I’m still partial to San Fereolo but this may be my new #2 dolcetto.

Four years later this is fresh. Like Piedmonte mountain water. Could drink this everyday.

Nice saturated red, fairly transparent. This is a among the best dolcetto I’ve tried, just behind Bartolo. Lovely texture, nothing forced and nicely in balance. 12.5% abv so nicely moderate. Touch of bramble and a slightly spicey grip at the back end.

I’m a big fan of what Roagna does, particularly with Nebbiolo, more specifically Barbaresco and even more so their Pajes. This Dolcetto, which I stumbled across in the local wine shop at $24, lives up to the name though. It’s a bit in the austere side, unusual for a Dolcetto, but drank nicely along side a veal saltimbocca one night and a hearty post Thanksgiving turkey stew the next.
