One of the best Bordeaux I’ve ever had. Just ready to drink. Ripe black fruits dominant mixed with delicate cedar box, tobacco leaves, truffle and forest floor. Rich and big structures, dusty tannins, 1min finish. Amazing!

Good to the last drop Are you ready for some football - football and the fall are perfect signals to me that wine drinking season is about to begin This is still young but really enjoyed Smiling

I was so excited to open this 2006 Leoville Barton. The color was ruby red and dark crimson. Almost black. It opened very hot with just a short decant. The nose showed amazing cherry, raspberry, cocoa and coffee notes. On the palate the tannins are very evident. There are obvious dark berries and even some earthy vegetables and tobacco. Over the course of 2hrs it really came into its own and showed its meddle. This is a great wine and, in my opinion, a great value. While a bit young, this wine a still great now and will be amazing in 10 yrs.

Drank this over the course of 6 days using Coravin...still too young, but the wine really opened up by the last day. Smells and tastes like a Grand Bordeaux St. Julien wine as it should. I used to this wine to test the Coravin. It is clear that oxidation starts right after the first pour.

5 hour decant. Dark dark fruit. Blackberry and a nutty (almond and pistachio?) finish. Still ridiculously tannic. Strong acid right now. Wouldn't open another 06 for many years.

Drinking by myself tonight. This should do the trick. Yes, individual notes to follow, but wanted a pic of these two beauties next to each other first

Still so young in its profile and marked by oak - however it gets a nice balance but will benefit of more years in the cellar to show its full potential
