2011. I don't know what to make of this wine. Lots of savory reductive aromas, some good (mint, Parmesan), some bad H2S-oriented ones (cooked onions, garlic). Fruit is all light cherry and pomegranate flavors. Lots of texture and power to the wine structurally though. Perhaps it just needs more time, but it's not an enjoyable wine right now. Pretty similar after two hours in a decanter. I concede I may just not understand this wine.

This is an astounding wine that not infrequently falls into the wrong hands

Unofficial Thursday HdR opening dinner with a loose “non-Rhône” theme. A funky start. One of only a few bottles still more than half full at the end of the evening so I know it wasn’t a hit with the group. Took it back to San Diego and it was quite good on nights 4 and 5. Obviously needs air.

Hands down the most intriguing rosé I've ever had. Montepulciano I believe. Super complex...close your eyes and you'd think it was red.

Blew my socks away - lots of minerality, yet on the nose so beautifully floral
