Opened it’s like a vat of nail polish. There’s some maraschino cherry too. I put it away for a day, the va had mostly blown off or integrated, but there was still a funk that came across as fresh oyster. The cherries became black and there was a cherry pit arsenic finish. (I like fruit pit/flower arsenic flavors and bitterness, generally, for the record.) There was some light violet aromas and a lot of really tacky woody tannins. Not nearly as good as the other cuvée I had from the same producer/vintage. That wine was more velvety and richer. Maybe this was an off bottle, I can’t imagine it getting better with time.
