Wits End (Chalk Hill Wines) Luna McLaren Vale Shiraz 2013

$16.99

The winery is called Chalk Hill at home, but has to go by Wits End here. Nothing confusing about this rich but nicely balanced Shiraz, though! Dark plum and blackberry fruit gets complexity from accents of leather, smoke, roasted meat and soy notes. Full-bodied and fleshy, this has the intensity and gamey/meaty character to shine with lamb but it's soft and supple enough to just sip.

Blackberry, plum, cherry and black licorice with a jucy and jammy mouth feel. Short finish. Would be nice with lamb or veal.
