Trimbach Alsace Riesling 2013

$22.99

Fine, dry, almost savory Riesling from a great estate. "Pale straw-green. Lime and orange oil on the perfumed, deep nose. Bright and clean on the palate, with zippy acidity providing lift and definition to the chamomile and licorice flavors. Finishes crisp, dry and long. For an entry-level Riesling, this is carrying a rather amazing 26 grams per liter of dry extract." Vinous 89

Wet stone and steely clean lemon on nose and palate. Acid and minerality are firm and focused. Comes across quite tart with underripe peach and a touch of bitter almond. Overwhelming acid makes food a must.

Acid drops in like heavy bass, followed by nearly equal levels of minerality. It is nearly devoid of fruit on nose and palate, yet so delightful.

Never disappoints. After cutting down two trees and running a new natural gas line this baby was as refreshing as ever.

Lemon and peach-apricot with stone and mineral overtones. Crisp acidity cleans the palate. Perfect wine for a hot summer day. L does not like...

Fresh grapey aromas with Bath Talc. Light to medium weight palate. Finishes bone dry (12.5% Alc) with mouth puckering acidity. Not dissimilar to a young Australian Riesling. Tough to drink after a 2015 Dr Loosen with residual sweetness (8.5% Alc). With time the acidity tamed. Long future ahead.

Sweet, but mild for a Riesling. Overall would recommend. Very good!

Great for the price. Notes of apricot, flinty rocks, apple, Honeysuckle, and a tiny bit of petrol.
