Franco Serra Barbera d'Alba 2014

$11.99

Delivers a lot more complexity and satisfaction than its humble price suggests. Fresh and juicy Bing/black cherry fruit roll across your tongue with accents of fresh leather and aged Balsamic. Long on the palate and mouthwatering finish where very light tannin gives a little extra support. A pretty sophisticated wine for the price - great with pizza, pasta, or even on its own.

A nice slightly acidic Italian red. Not dry and has a touch of acidity. Great wine to serve over dinner, but more so to guests who may not be red lovers. Crowd pleaser.

Very aromatic. Plum jam with some other stewed fruit characteristics without being over the top. Fruit forward but very nice structure with a long finish and balanced against the acidity.
