Dow's 10 Year Old Tawny Porto

$32.99

Made from a blend of barrel aged ports that are average approximately 10 years of age - although the “10-Year” designation indicates style more than actual wine age. Dow’s 10-Year Tawny is a classic - orange peel, caramel, honey, nuts, and dried fig flavors swirl around a hint of red berry fruit. As always, the classic Dow dry finish keeps the wine refreshing.

Hmm, good aperitive in this freezing cold weather to warm the hearts. Partnered it with terrine from rabbit. #tawny #port

I wish I always had a bottle of this on hand! So good. Sweetness perfectly balanced by the alcohol.

In 1912, Andrew James Symington became a partner in Dow's and today, five members of the fourth generation Symington family own and manage this historic house. 10 Years" indicates an average age – this Aged Tawny Port is a blend of older wines, matured in oak casts. Amber color with aromas of sweet dried fruits, citrus and nutty notes. On the palate sweet ripe fruit, vanilla oak, ending with fig and cacao notes. Smooth, Nice value. Tasting Sample.

Delicious 10 year old tawny. Rich dark fruit balanced with subtle oak. Lovely nutty notes and some spice on the finish too.

Walnut, toffee and oak with a bit of raspberry. The sweet mid does not overpower the rest of the flavors. Finish relatively long of sweetness and berry.

Pleasant hazelnut and macadamia with a warm vanilla and caramel finish that isn't overbearing in sweetness. I enjoyed it a bit cooler than room temp and find a lot of fresh appeal in highlighting the acidity while subduing the alcohol. Nice stuff.

Best enjoyed at cellar temp and after a day of air. Acidity cuts through the sweetness, very balanced and delicious.
