Domaine Dupeuble Beaujolais Gamay 2015

$16.99

From an old (since the 1500s) estate that takes growing Beaujolais seriously - 50-100 year-old vines, no chemicals in the vineyard, hand harvested, no SO2 used in vinfification, and so on. This serious approach delivers a 2014 BoJo that's all about fun! Ripe and fleshy with dark plum and black raspberry fruit with earthy chocolate accents and a touch of granite on the mouthwatering finish.

A little tannic and off-balance on day 1. It came around nicely on day 2. Great with some spicy Thai green curry.

After drinking a lot of rich and complex Cru Beaujolais this past year (2015 vintage contributing to the ripeness) it’s nice to slurp down something fresh and easy drinking like this to re-level the palate (and to save a few bucks). Aroma shows cranberry, cherry, bubblegum, and some fresh steminess. Palate is fruit-driven, has low tannin and acid, and finishes super clean. If you can get this for less than $15, I’d recommend this as a weeknight bottle for a simple meal or drinking on its own.

Great QPR. Classic Gamay. @Jon G and @Sean Smith would enjoy this offering. Tasty with medium acid and light fruit.

Pretty, with a surprising depth of finish. Never a bad idea to trade down in strong vintages
