Château Larose-Trintaudon Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

A terrific release in the great 2010 vintage for this iconic Haut Medoc Cru Bourgeois. Sustainably farmed Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) and Merlot (40%) delivers lively aromas of plum, black cherry, and smoky herb and flavors of ripe currant, cedar, and spice. Fine acids and soft tannins keep this refreshing and make it equally delicious at table or just to sip. Outstanding value.

Prepping for our Bordeaux trip next Spring. Someone has to do it! Old world. Nice length. Olive. Rich currant. Just starting to open up...

Too young, tannins dominate. Maybe in another 5 years

Sweet black fruits on the nose. First taste of black cherries then a wash of dry tannins across the palate. The finish is very muted but hints of coffee or leather. Probably could use a few more years.

Really delicious, juicy with blackcurrant notes and full-bodied sans a heaviness. A little too smooth with, e.g., a lot of herbs and marinade, but would be especially perfect with a rich steak or a nice cream sauce.

Not great. Nose was foul but the wine's taste was OK.
