Château La Rame Bordeaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2012

$18.99$12.98

A friendly, well-priced, Bordeaux that tastes and feels just exactly like a good Bordeaux should. Roughly equal parts Cabernet Suavignon and Merlot from sandy soils near the Garonde river, this delivers attractive, middle-weight, flavors of black currant, cedar, and fresh herb with the fruit gaining strength over the fine, firm, finish. A natural with lamb or any other herby, earthy, fare.

On the nose, red/black fruit and green peppers. In the mouth, blackberries and grippy tannins. Good acidity. Slightly bitter mid palate and finish. Fairly rustic, but decent QPR at 17 bucks. 60% Merlot, 40% Cab Sav.

This is a good wine if you can wait for the touch of confection to pass.
