Casa Santos Lima Confidencial Reserva Tinto Red Blend 2012

This has the balance and structure to improve steadily over the next 5-8 years, so don’t hesitate to load up and hold some – if you can resist now! “Structured, this oozes blackberry fruitiness as well as a balanced layer of dry tannins. The wine is fruity and rich while keeping its elegance. A core of tannins and fresh acidity in the fruit promise that this wine will age.” WE 92

Clear dark ruby. Nose of nice dark sweet fruit, like cherries, sprinkled with some salty mineral note, anise, spice, but a bit edgy sulfate note. Taste of ample sweetness from dark fruits like jelly jam, hidden within is some minor spice, cedar wood, and rustic note. It is smooth and just a bit watery. It does please the palates a lot. Aftertaste of some strong alcohol manifesting itself as hotness, some zesty bitterness, and chocolate. Low on tannins and ready for you to enjoy now. Hard to beat it at this price range.
