"Ripe dark berries, vanilla and candied flowers on the pungent nose, with a minerally quality adding lift. Spicy and expansive on the palate, offering intense cherry and raspberry liqueur flavors and a hint of mocha. Becomes deeper and more broad with air and finishes with velvety tannins and a repeating floral pastille note that lingers with strong tenacity." Vinous 92/WE 93

Deep garnet red. Dark red fruits with baking spices and creamy dark cocoa on the nose. Moderate tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Slightly dusty on the palate with notes of dark cocoa and a little savory in the medium plus finish. Pretty well integrated and a beautiful wine for under $20. Drink till 2022.

Round, rich full bodied elegance, tannins are fairly well resolved and intergraded for an 09. Dark fruits, expresso coffee grounds, saddlewood, dark chocolate, violets, soft spice, nice use off oak that reveals a cinnamon /vanilla barrel toast good acidity and a long beautiful finish that lasts.

Boy, this is good Tempranillo. Deep purple color, medium body, soft tannins, ripe red berries, and a lovely touch of vanilla. Great Costco find

Another 2 bottles of this... I tried not to look back at my prior review. Butterscotch persists on the nose. I don't get the "coffee" note from before. I get a little licorice or eucalyptus. Solid again. Nice finish. Still an easy 93 points.

Color of dark bloody red with brownish tone on the rim. Nose of nice and unmistakable cocoa, beautiful and pronounced oak, a bit graphite, and subtle hint of black fruit like black cherry. The woody fragrant oak note is fabulous and rare. Taste of tight tannins, beautiful cedar wood / oaky note, dry and elegant, and rustic graphite. Second sip has flavors of cherry jam, some grassy note, a bit black tea, a bit dark chocolate, and bittersweet. Aftertaste of lingering bittersweet, tobacco leaf, round, and medium long. This unique taste is hard to come by in US. If you guys have the chance to try, rush for it. The unique flavors definitely deserves a high rating.

This opens with a butterscotch coffee bouquet. Was spectacular at first taste for me. Full bodied, balanced, very drinkable. After decanting, I expected that I would be updating my initial 9.3 to 9.4, but it didn't improve too much--remained just a little razor sharp on the finish. Still, I can't demote it. For $24 I'm hard pressed to come up with any bottle that compares. I looked back at past ratings and confirmed that this is indeed a top 10 or 15 for 2016 for me... so far. 93 points
